Allegra Silberstein
Allegra Silberstein
Thank you to those that joined us Saturday, October 19th for an afternoon of poetry and artwork. Hosted by Trina Drotor and Sandy Thomas, Crossroads is a series of events dedicated to enriching the interplay between literary and visual arts. For those of you that missed it, you can learn more about the poets below and listen to audio from the event here.

Shawn Aveningo is an internationally published, multi-award-winning poet who hosts the "Verse on the Vine" poetry show. She’s performed in San Francisco, Seattle and St. Louis, and her work can be found in Pirene’s Fountain, Nazar Look: Metric Conversions, Nefarious Ballerina, Convergence, Sacramento News and Review and the forthcoming Tribute to Ana├»s Nin. She’s a Show-Me girl from Missouri, mother of three and LOVES shoes - especially red ones!

Allegra Silberstein grew up on a farm in Wisconsin but has lived in California since 1963. Her love of poetry began as a child when her mother would recite poems as she worked. In addition to three chapbooks of poetry, she has over a hundred publications in journals such as Blue Unicorn, California Quarterly, Rattlesnake Review, Poetry Now, and a growing number on-line. In March, 2010, Allegra became the first Poet Laureate for the city of Davis, California. She is also a dancer and sings and plays washboard with Front Porch Bluegrass in Davis.
